Active voice के वाक्यों को passive voice मैं ही बदलना काफी नहीं है बल्कि passive voice के प्रयोग को समझना भी उतना ही जरूरी है ।
आज हम passive voice के हिंदी वाक्यों का अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद करना सीखेंगे। Passive voice के वाक्यों में कर्ता को प्रधानता ना देकर कर्म को प्रधानता दी जाती है।
पहचान-इन वाक्यों के अंत में रहा था रही थी रहे थे आदि शब्द आते हैं।
जैसे-किताबें बेची जा रही थी।
Past continuous tense का passive बनाते समय helping verb was/were+being का प्रयोग किया जाता है तथा verb की तीसरी अवस्था का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
Structure-
Passive of affirmative of past continuous tense
Passive subject+was/were+being+V3+by+passive object
Example-
किताबें बेची जा रही थी।
Books for being sold.
गणित पढ़ाया जा रहा था।
Math was being taught.
गड्ढे खोदे जा रहे थे।
Pits were being dug
बाजार में आम बेचे जा रहे थे।
Mangoes were being sold in the market.
लुटेरों द्वारा उसे पीटा जा रहा था।
He was being beaten by looters.
Passive of negative of past continuous tense
Structure-
Passive subject+was/were+not+being+V3+by+passive object.
Example-
किताबें नहीं बेची जा रही थी।
Books were not being sold.
मोहन को नहीं पीटा जा रहा था।
Mohan was not being beaten.
बच्चों को गृह कार्य नहीं दिया जा रहा था।
Children were not given home work.
उसे नहीं बुलाया जा रहा था।
He was not being called.
सड़क की मरम्मत नहीं की जा रही थी।
Road was not being repaired.
Passive of single interrogative of past continuous tense
Structure-
Was/were+passive subject+being+V3+by+passive object?
Examples-
क्या किताबें बेची जा रही थी?
Were books being sold?
क्या उसे पीटा जा रहा था?
Was he being beaten?
क्या बच्चों को गृह कार्य दिया जा रहा था?
Were children being given home work?
क्या उसे बुलाया जा रहा था?
Was he being called?
क्या कहानी सुनाई जा रही थी?

Structure-
Wh word+Was/were+passive subject+being+V3+by+passive object?
Examples-
उसे क्या पढ़ाया जा रहा था?
What was he being taught?
उसे क्यों पीटा जा रहा था?
Why was he being beaten?
सड़क के मरम्मत कब की जा रही थी?
When was road being repaired?
उसको क्या कहा जा रहा था?
What was he being said?
उसे कहां भेजा जा रहा था?
